Lies

We can all agree that lies are bad. In fact for 4 years we kept hearing about how many lies Trump was guilty of  spewing. Many of which while untrue probably should have been classified braggadocio or chest thumping. You know largest crowd ever, greatest this or that, even the Mexicans will pay for the wall. Either so outlandish the only a fool would believe it or effecting nothing. Fact checkers checking things that never mattered

During Obama's presidency, we got you will be able to keep your health plan, only that plan became so expensive that people couldn't keep those plans. Now we have Biden quoted on the campaign trail as I won't ban fracking Period!, first week in office executive order banning fracking. Now we hear Sen. Kerry saying the gas and oil jobs will be replaced by solar and wind power jobs, only solar and wind are only projected to replace about a quarter of those jobs.

You choose which lies are going to effect you more.

If the media was doing their jobs we would be hearing more about these lies that truly hurt people.

Trump's lies are legion. One can brag and exaggerate without lying, but he lied. "Largest crowd ever" was demonstrably false, a lie. Lies matter, and factcheckers check facts.

Biden has not banned fracking, and that's another lie. Unless, of course, you believe it and are just mistaken, in which case I'd love to see the information you relied on in making the claim. I find scads of online resources saying the EO does not in fact ban fracking but don't know which of them you'd accept so won't risk getting marked by blogger as spam for putting all those links in the comments here.

There is, I agree with you, a difference between a lie and an exaggeration, between a lie and a mistake, between a lie and a prediction based on incomplete data... "Trump will win" was not a lie. "Trump won" is. Just as an example.

  2. Well weather you believe it or not several state leaders in New Mexico and other western states believe that is what is in Biden's EO's If you say you won't do something and then you cause it to be curtailed even if the exact wording isn't in the EO it amounts to the same thing Biden banned new leases on public lands and fracking is primarily how they were extracting the oil on these lands. This is a huge part of several western states budgets, the taxes that are generated by oil and gas. Biden lied and this is exactly the point I was making Trumps lies about crowd size hurt no one Biden's lie is costing real people real money big difference. The left does this a lot let's do this or that with no thought for the people it hurts or the cost let's do something because it makes us feel good.

    1. Again, I'd love to see your sources. This isn't a matter of whether or not I believe a thing is true but whether or not it is true. Facts matter.

"Curtailing" and "banning" are not the same thing. Words have meanings. Saying, "I won't ban fracking," and then saying, "I will curtail fracking by pausing new oil and gas leases on federal land" are not contradictory statements. All current fracking remains as is.

This was one of his campaign promises.

    2. If it makes you happy if you curtail something it at least amounts to a partial ban. When you make a statement that says no ban period, emphasis on the period it implies you are leaving it alone to me this is probably the worst kind of lie. The sneaky half truths that give politicians the cover to say no that's not what I mean. Either it is a lie or Biden is an idiot, he has been at this long enough to know how to weave his half truths.

    3. lol Whether or not I'm happy about it doesn't affect the definitions of the words ;)

A ban is not at all the same thing as a curtailment. If I say I won't ban a thing, that's all it means. "I won't ban outings" and "I won't schedule new and different outings but will allow all the usual outings" aren't contradictory statements. "I won't ban cookies" and "I won't allow cookies anywhere but at the table" are not contradictory statements.
