Book review, The LaNague Chronicals by F.Paul Wilson

After the recession of 2007-2009 many people pointed to Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged as a book that depicted the situation we found ourselves living. Outside of the space aliens and travel I think the  LaNague Chonicles deals with an oppressive government in a more realistic fashion. Peter Lanague pushes the government to the limits and let's them fall over the tipping point.

The LaNague Chronicles Is actually a series of novella length stories written very early in Wilson's career, late 60's early 70's. The political intrigue while intertwined through the whole saga is really only a major part of one story.

While I found the Chronicles to be an enjoyable read be fore warned it does have an unsatisfying ending

2016

As we move on towards 2016 it becomes apparent that most Democrats want to see Hillary Clinton run for president. Listening to Michael Medved on the radio Friday this question came up, would we even be considering Hillary if she was a man. The same could be said of president Obama in 2007 would he have been a front runner if he wasn't black.

Male or female, black or white I don't care let's look at accomplishments and credentials rather than something a superficial a skin color or gender.

Voter fraud

Whenever new rules pertaining to voter ID or registration are proposed people on the left claim there is no need because of the lack of fraud or illegal votes. The numbers out of North Carolina aught to put these arguments to rest. With tens of thousands of double registrations and thousands of double votes found we have overwhelming proof of a voting system in desperate need of repair.

We demand that new born babies be issued social security cards why not register babies to vote and issue them a national voting identification number photo id to be issued at eighteen.

Us vs, Them

Big government, Democrat or Republican we all at least say we don't like bigger and bigger government, we probably disagree on how big is too big. Being in favor of radical reduction in government size and scope, I see dangerous over reach and wasteful spending almost every time I read or see the news.

More disheartening than waste and over reach is what it does to our country. Big government creates and us versus them state of mind. Not just private vs. public but rich vs. poor, black vs. white, men vs women and so on . Big government uses groups to separate people divide and conquer. People no longer care about the good of the country when they are busy worrying about the welfare cheat or the overpaid ceo. Is it because we don't care about our country of course not but we are distracted. We are distracted from the fact that self serving politicians believe that remaining in power is their sole objective and once elected they are entitled to live off the people for life.

Join together, don't be distracted throw out the incumbents if you recognize the name vote for the other guy. The only way to get government to again work for the people and the good of the country is to let them know that government work is temporary and we not they are boss.
