Election

Being from Ohio we get endless visits and much media attention regarding the presidential election. I wonder how people in states where there is no doubt about who the state will pick feel about this. It's almost as though the solid red or blue states don't matter. I don't know if there is a solution to keep interest high in these states but it seems like we should strive to make every vote mean something.

  1. I'm from New York. Though my county (sadly) tends to report for some nutty right wingers (our representative is an embarrassment), the state is very consistently blue when it comes to senators and presidential elections. Nobody bothers to campaign here for real. Even during the primaries we get very minimal attention because we vote so late in the season. Actually, the primary deal bugs me more than the general election-- it's pretty much completely decided before NY, a state with a very big population, gets a say. I find myself extremely annoyed with Iowa and New Hampshire, tiny populations with an undue influence. But alas. I can live with it.
