President Obama is normally spoken of a a smart guy even brilliant by some even if we disagree with his policies. I think this is why some of the goofballs will say he is trying to destroy the economy or the U.S. because he is too smart to do it by accident. So a statement he made this week has me thinking, he accused the republicans of acting like deadbeats for not raising the debt ceiling without demanding spending cuts. Now either he doesn't understand what deadbeat is or he has a different definition then I do. A deadbeat is someone who has no intention of paying back a debt. Which is pretty much what continually raising the debt ceiling amounts to. So how can demanding cuts in spending be the act of a deadbeat?
I won't go so far as to say that president Obama is stupid but I think he says things without thinking sometimes.

"he says things without thinking sometimes"
ReplyDeletelol yes, indeed.
in my opinion, he was using the term "deadbeat" to mean someone who won't pay current obligations. he said, "Threatening that you won’t pay the bills in this country when we’ve already racked up those bills, that’s not an economic plan —that’s just being a deadbeat." and that is a true statement as far as it goes.
i think everybody agrees cuts in spending are necessary; it's what gets cut that's at issue.
i agree the budget is a mess, but the current gridlock isn't fixing it.
He isn't necessarily "stupid" which would mean lacking in mental abilities. He has the capacity to be smart. However, he was subject to marxist indoctrination as a youth and had it reinforced by attending colleges infested with left wing theorists. People can survive higher education without becoming socialist, but not if one is already sold on that nonsense. As far as his many various misstatements a lot of those can be attributed to spending his youth overseas. You are not going to get a thorough education in US history in our schools but it will definitely be better than you'll get in a madrassa in Indonesia.
